The department is committed to assisting students in locating internships and employment. A current student is hired each year as Student Affairs Coordinator, whose duty is to compile, edit, and produce a weekly electronic newsletter —Off the Wall— which is then sent to current students, alumni, and faculty. This newsletter, a primary means of keeping in touch with current students and alumni, contains UEP announcements, information on upcoming lectures, events, conferences, "Fun Stuff," and lists job and internship postings. Department faculty and administrative staff maintain contact with a widespread alumni network, which has proven to be invaluable to students seeking internships and jobs.
