Housing

Summer Session student housing is in Hill Hall. Students should expect to have a roommate. The residence hall also has a common living room/recreation space, a laundry room with coin-operated washers and dryers, vending machines, and a common-area kitchenette. Air-conditioners and cooking appliances are not allowed.

Eligibility

Students enrolled in summer courses on the Medford/Somerville campus may reside in university housing on the Medford/Somerville campus. Enrollment must be for credit registration; audit enrollment does not qualify.

Occupancy Period

  • First Session May 21-June 30, 2012
  • 12-Week Session May 21-August 11, 2012
  • Second Session July 2-August 11, 2012

Please note that campus housing is not available after August 11 for any reason. There is no on-campus storage between August 13 and the start of the fall semester.

Fees

The room charge is $776 for six weeks and $1,552 for twelve weeks.

Assignments

Applications for housing are available online at ase.tufts.edu/reslife. Applications for the First Session and the 12-Week Session are due by April 30, 2012; applications for the Second Session are due by June 1, 2012. Applications received after April 30 or June 1, respectively, will be processed on a first-come, first-served basis, if space is available.

 Applications with payment info must be returned to Student Services in Dowling Hall after you register for summer courses. Applications will only be accepted after course registration is verified. 

Specific housing assignments and information on furnishings, telephone services, and move-in logistics will be emailed beginning May 15, 2012 for the First Session and the 12-Week Session, and June 15, 2012 for the Second Session. Please note that the Office of Residential Life and Learning assigns all summer housing. Mutual roommate requests will be honored on a space-available basis. 

Cancellation

There will be a $200 cancellation fee if your cancellation request is received after May 15, 2012 for the First Session (or 12-Week Session) or June 15, 2012 for the Second Session. If you cancel once the session has begun, you will be responsible for a prorated charge in addition to the $200 cancellation fee. If you want to cancel a housing request, you must put your cancellation in writing and submit it to the Office of Residential Life and Learning. Notice to any other university office is not sufficient.
