Ancient Egypt: Civilizations of the Nile and the Near East
On January 3, 1978, one million tickets for the traveling “Treasures of Tutankhamun” exhibition went on sale at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. Within 36 hours, the tickets were gone. Luckily, Lecturer J. Matthew Harrington’s mom had thought ahead: In order to ensure she would get tickets for her family, she signed up for a museum membership.
