Research

The Institute's research encompasses four distinct areas within the broader categories of Chemical & Pharmaceutical and Biological processes:

I. Chemical & Pharmaceutical Processes
  1. Batch Manufacturing: Research concentrates on the rapid design and operation of batch processes. Currently, the Institute is developing a university/industry collaborative consortium to address generic challenges in batch processes on a pre-competitive level. The consortium aims to utilize unique computational and experimental facilities to develop new prototypes.

  2. Modeling & Control of Continuous Processes: Current research in this area focuses on operability.
II. Biological Processes
  1. Systems Physiology: Research projects are currently in development and will focus on pharmacokinetic systems and feedback control of anesthesia

  2. Dynamics and Feedback in Cellular Systems: Research projects are currently in development.
