Past Programs:
Community Based AmeriCorps*VISTA
Based on the desire of member campuses to support community
partner organizations through the challenges of the current economic
climate, fifteen AmeriCorps*VISTA members were placed full-time at
community-based organizations across the state. With a proven track
record of success over the past twelve years of the campus based
MACC VISTA program, MACC was pleased to offer this opportunity to
community-based organizations that partner with MACC member
campuses. This opportunity helped support and expand the
partnerships that existed between campuses and their local
communities.
Funded by the Corporation for National and Community Service
Massachusetts State Office through the American Recovery and
Reinvestment Act, Community Based AmeriCorps*VISTA members addressed
two program goals: Volunteer Coordination and Organizational
Capacity Building. These members helped increase services provided
to clients in the local communities.
