About MACC:
Who We Are
Massachusetts Campus Compact (MACC) is a nonprofit coalition of college and
university presidents committed to developing the civic skills of students,
building partnerships with the community, and integrating civic engagement with
teaching and research.
What We Do
Massachusetts Campus Compacts work encompasses a broad range of activities
designed to increase the effectiveness of those working to make higher education
institutions vital agents of civic renewal:
- Training for faculty, staff, students, administrators, and community partners
- Resources, including print and online white papers, grant announcements and
student community service scholarships
- Leadership training for students to become civically engaged
- Capacity building through MACC AmeriCorps*VISTA members, infrastructure
support, and more
- Campus consultation to meet specific needs and research on effective practices
- State and national policy work on issues relating to higher education
- Grants and funding for on-campus community service work
- Partnerships with academic, community, business, and government leaders
- Regional conferences, on-campus workshops, and faculty institutes
