Economics
Textbooks
GDAE's
Theory and Education Program is developing textbooks
for use in teaching introductory and environmental economics
in the United States and abroad.
Microeconomics
in Context
Microeconomics
in Context provides a thorough introduction to
the principles of microeconomics, but it also delves
deeper, offering a fresh portrait of the economic realities
of the 21st century. This text examines economic activity in its environmental
and social contexts, drawing on both traditional economic
principles and new research to give students greater
insight into our economic world. The First Edition was published by Houghton Mifflin; the Second Edition is forthcoming from M.E. Sharpe at an economical price.
Macroeconomics
in Context
Macroeconomics in Context is the companion
text to Microeconomics in Context, extending
the contextual economics approach to macroeconomics. The Preliminary Edition is available on-line, free of charge; the First Edition is forthcoming from M.E. Sharpe at an economical price.
Environmental
and Natural Resource Economics: A Contemporary Approach.
This
text written by Dr. Jonathan M. Harris and published
by Houghton Mifflin incorporates environmental issues
into the teaching of economics. Drawing on both
standard and alternative perspectives, the text relates
theoretical questions to current issues such as population
growth, global climate change, or trade and the environment.
Microeconomics
in Context (Transitional Economies Version)
A separate version of Microeconomics in Context
has been written for the specific needs of economics
students in transitional economies. The transitional
economics version has been published in both Russian
and Vietnamese.
