RUNNING HOT and Steady with
the WCA
September 2 – October 12, 2003
The Women’s Caucus for Art, Boston Chapter celebrates its
new association with Tufts University in the juried exhibition,
RUNNING HOT and Steady. This show features the work of
over 25 local area artists in media including oil painting, watercolors,
works on paper, photography, two and three dimensional mixed media,
and monoprints.
RUNNING HOT and Steady
is juried by Tufts Art History Professor Madeline Caviness, narrative
painter Gail Boyajian, and Gallery Director John Colan of HallSpace.
From the steadfast inaugural members to the more recent enthusiasts,
the artists selected are a testament to the success of the organization’s
recent outreach. The diverse representation of talent from both
emerging and established artists and the varied styles and inspirational
chords in the artwork express the strength of a group united as
a network for women in the visual arts profession.
The mission of the WCA, Boston is to increase the opportunities,
visibility, and recognition of women in the visual arts. The works
lining the Slater Concourse Gallery in RUNNING HOT and Steady
exemplify the vitality of the organization in its 18th year of dedication
to this mission.
