Marie Shack
Marie has served the professional field of art education in many ways
and was recently named the 2010 Massachusetts Art Educator of the Year
for Supervisor/Administrator by Massachusetts Art Education
Association. She is currently a member of the Massachusetts
Department of Education Curriculum committee to refine the Fine Arts
Frameworks. Marie is employed as the art liaison for the K-12 art
program in Wilmington public schools where she is currently a high
school art teacher. She has participated in high school accreditation
teams in Hopkinton, Massachusetts, and North Providence, Rhode Island.
She was awarded Outstanding Student in Educational Leadership and
Management at Fitchburg State College by New England Conservatory.
Marie's work as an art educator was featured in The Flower Teachers:
Stories for a New Generation by Candace Jesse Stout.
Marie holds a C.A.G.S. in Educational Leadership from Fitchburg State
College ('97); an M.A. in Art Education from Massachusetts College of
Art ('81), and a B.A. in Art from the College of New Rochelle ('68).
