| About The Curriculum Resource Center
The purpose of the Tufts Department of Education Curriculum
Resource Center (CRC) is to provide a space where educators of
all grade levels, from kindergarten through graduate school, can
gather to explore ways to use technology to create a better
learning experience for their students. Seminars are held
throughout the year in the CRC, to highlight some innovative
projects, such as VideoPaper Builder, Early Algebra (an
exploration of the potentially algebraic nature of arithmetic
and how to use it to advantage in elementary grade math
activities), and the Fulcrum Institute for Leadership in Science
Education. The CRC is an ideal place for software developers to
field-test curriculum materials (paper or electronic).
The CRC is located on the first floor of Paige Hall on Tufts'
Medford campus. It was opened in January 2001 to serve as a
resource for three groups: students in the Department of Education
(both undergraduate and graduate), the Department of Education
faculty, and PreK-12 teachers in the surrounding communities.
The CRC houses traditional resources (books, journals, and other
written materials), as well as computer resources. It currently
maintains 11 desktop computers (6 Mac, 5 Windows) with
facilities for digital video and image editing.
