Dance Program: Courses

The Department of Drama and Dance offers dance courses that are appropriate for the general student body and for those with dance experience. They fall within the general groupings of western concert dance and world dance. The objectives of this non-conservatory program are to expose students to basic concepts of human movement, to foster the development of creative resources, to enable the analysis of performance, and to contextualize dance forms within their cultures. This liberal arts approach encourages students to create integrative links with drama and with other disciplines. Dance courses may be used to satisfy major and minor requirements of the department as well as those for the general university. Please contact the Drama and Dance department to inquiry about course offerings at 617-627-3524.
