We offer students the opportunity to do a special project of their own design during their senior year at Tufts. This project is meant to be a “capstone” experience, tying together diverse classes, internships, experiences with seeing/hearing/participating in a media culture.
Some students do traditional empirically based or historically based thesis work. But most elect to do a creative project. Projects can be films, screenplays, advertising or PR campaigns, websites, multimedia projects, media literacy campaigns, photojournalism essays and more. Some of our recent senior projects include:

Most of our students find that the CMS Senior Project is “the thing” that makes their senior year. Many of our students have also found that the CMS Senior Project is something that catapults them into whatever comes next – a job, a career direction, graduate school. All of our students find that the CMS Senior Project is what pulls together what they’ve been learning throughout their time at Tufts.
