Nearly 100 Tufts students a year receive academic credit through CMS for interning in print journalism, book publishing, broadcasting and film, digital/multimedia, the recording industry, advertising, marketing communications, public relations, and other communications fields.
During the school year, students intern at a host of media organizations in the Boston area. Among the most popular are Arnold Worldwide, Walden Media, WBUR/National Public Radio, WGBH-TV (Nova, American Experience, Frontline, Arthur, Fetch), Kraft Sports Group/New England Patriots,
The Boston Phoenix, and Boston Magazine.
Summer internships can be done in any city, even abroad. The largest number of interns are in Los Angeles, New York, Boston, and Washington DC. In recent years they have included The Late Show with David Letterman, Dateline NBC, Atlantic Records, the Los Angeles Times, CNN, The Daily Beast, EXTRA, Glamour Magazine, MTV Networks, Di Bonaventura Pictures, The Village Voice, NBC Sports, Nickelodeon, and CBS.
