MEDFORD --
Wrapping up a magnificent year for the Tufts University women's

junior captain Meghan McCooey (Cumberland, RI) earned spots
on the 2009 Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Women's
All-American Team.
Both players are All-Americans for the second straight year. Browne
won the national recognition for both her singles and doubles play
in 2008-09. McCooey was honored for her doubles play with Browne
this year.
Browne was the national #4 seed in the NCAA Singles Tournament in
May. She finished the season with a 23-4 overall record, including
15-1 in dual matches. She won the ITA New England Region singles
title in late September and was named New England Small College
Athletic Conference (NESCAC) Player of the Year.
Browne and McCooey were 25-4 overall in doubles play this season,
including 14-1 in dual matches. They were the #3 doubles pair in the
final ITA national rankings of the season released on June 9. They
