Graduate Program

Tuition and Financial Aid

Depending on your circumstance, Tufts may be significantly less expensive than competing M.A. programs.

The Tufts M.A. is a two-year program, but students pay tuition only in the first year; the second year tuition is exempt. Based on merit and need we also offer scholarships in the form of reduced tuition. Financial aid is available for the first year; make sure to apply for it if you think you might need it.

In the second year students are required to pay only for the health insurance fees and student activity fees. Also, in the second year, students who pass the Comprehensive Exam in the beginning of the second year are eligible for paid Teaching Assistantships which help with living costs and provide valuable teaching experience.

Learn more about the application process by visiting Graduate Admissions. For further questions please contact the Director of our graduate program, Associate Professor Karen Overbey (karen.overbey@tufts.edu or 617-627-2597).
